Cadillac recently announced that it was preparing to electrify the iconic Cadillac Escalade while debuting its IQ sub-brand to denote future Cadilac models. However, other than the badging, we didn’t see much of the styling, and we certainly had some questions about what Cadillac was up to here. The luxury brand has released a new teaser video that attempts to answer some of these questions and provides the world with a glimpse into the 2024 Escalade IQ’s styling.
Lyriq Plays Prominent Role In Escalade IQ’s Styling, Adorns Bigger Canvas
At first glance, it becomes apparent that the Cadillac Lyriq played a vital role in the Escalade IQ’s styling language. The front fascia has the same attention to detail as the Lyriq, with the center panel featuring integrated lighting that creates a winged appearance with the glowing Cadillac logo front and center. Vertically mounted LED daytime running lights are also mounted along the edges. Cadillac has stated in the past that lighting will play a prominent role in future Cadillac EV models, and this Escalade is the latest example of this in action.
Unfortunately, Cadillac didn’t reveal much of the rear styling beyond the light-adorned roof spoiler and a tiny slice of the rear lamps. Still, we suspect that the taillights here will have a similar design to what we have seen on the Lyriq but mounted more vertically to match the units on its ICE-powered counterpart. Cadillac claims that it’s reinventing the Escalade, and it will be interesting to see if the IQ version can fill the big shoes of its conventionally powered sibling, which rapidly gained a loyal fanbase of followers during its time in production, especially in the 1990s and early 2000s. The interior was absent from this latest round of teasers. Still, we suspect the model will have a similar screen setup to the Lyriq and even the Celestiq hyper-luxury sedan.
When Will We See It?
Buyers interested in learning more will have to wait a while, with Cadillac planning to unveil the 2024 Cadillac Escalade IQ in New York City on August 9th. In the meantime, look for more teaser images, especially those of the interior and other key design details for the exterior.
