Jeep releases new teasers for 2022 Grand Wagoneer: confirms September 3rd unveiling

The teaser campaign surrounding the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is in full swing, and the iconic off-road brand is leaving no stone untouched when it comes to revealing key tidbits of the game changing three row SUV. This includes today’s teaser images which appear to confirm that the Grand Wagoneer will be the most luxurious Jeep model ever produced.

Like the last round of images, Jeep did not give too many details to work with, but it’s very clear that the upcoming Jeep model will bring plenty of style to Jeep showrooms. The first teaser image shows off a slice of the front grille, as well as the “WAG” portion of the emblem. We suspect the Grand portion is hidden off camera, but the real news is the sheer amount of chrome that is present. Having a healthy amount of bright work is always a plus in the luxury SUV segment, and it appears that Jeep designers are pulling out all the stops in this regard, with chrome being the central focal point of the presentation. It also appears that both the grille and the emblem itself will light up in night time driving. While we have seen the likes of Mercedes Benz using light up grilles and three pointed stars in the past, having the emblem itself light up would be a small but crucial game changer for the big Jeep.

The second image is another glimpse of the Grand Wagoneer’s interior, but this time we get a better look at certain elements. This includes the elegantly stylized rotary controller, slick metal and wood accents, as well as a blurred screen. The screen was blurred in the last round of teasers, and it’s certainly a very massive piece. This picture also appears to confirm a rumor that suggests the front passenger would get a screen of their own to use. This would be a segment first if it’s indeed true, and in the image, it appears that the front passenger gets to control their seat adjustments (we suspect that this unit is capable of far more than that though.)

Other reports indicate that the 2022 Grand Wagoneer will go hunting for high end Benz, Range Rover, and even Audi models with technology such as a fully digital instrument cluster, extensive off-road driving aides, and even a massive 12-inch infotainment screen. The Grand Wagoneer is supposed to share some of its components with the Ram 1500 pickup, so we will not be too shocked if the Grand Wagoneer is indeed capable of being a solid jack of all trades, with the ability to coddle passengers in comfort on the freeway, or conquer a few trails on the weekend.

Jeep revealed that it will be unveiling the 2022 Grand Wagoneer on September 3rd, but declined to confirm what time it will be unveiling the three row SUV. When it does appear in showrooms, the large SUV will help fill a void in its lineup, and allow the brand to lure in more SUV buyers. The brand’s last attempt in this arena was the ill-fated Jeep Commander in the early 2000s which suffered from bad fuel economy, a cramped third row, and poor timing, with the model appearing when oil prices surged upwards later in the decade. Production is expected to kick off in early 2021, with the first units arriving in showrooms later that year.
