Slammed stance, great grip and pipes…
annnnd it’s a diesel.
Wham. Slight disappointment but an interesting look regardless.
For example, why not remove the 220d from the trunk? And why with this deeply lowered suspension… are there running boards? The hood is definitely open in these pics, by the way.
Oh well. The power bump is modest but also well-priced for an ECU reflash.
2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC By VAETH
VÄTH LAUNCHED A GLC

VÄTH in Hösbach near Aschaffenburg gained worldwide recognition with their two business segments, automobile technology and engine technology. Vehicles from Mercedes-Benz and AMG are sent to Lower Franconia in order to receive an upgrade of their ennoblements, performance increases, exhaust systems, chassis, alloy wheels and/or interior optimizations.
The object of desire is a Mercedes-Benz GLC, last year’s replacement of the GLK. The GLC – internal type designation X 253 – is significantly more curved compared to the angular shaped predecessor GLK. A first glance at the GLC proves that the legacy of the C-class cannot be denied.
The second generation of the compact SUV C-class hits the bull’s eye of the urban „feel-good oasis on four wheels“ trend.
The VÄTH team started with the installation of a performance update referred to as V22CDI for the all-wheel driven Mercedes GLC 220d. For 850,00 Euro they elicited 205 PS (= 151 kW) performance out of the 2.143 cm³ cubic capacity [instead of 170 PS (= 125 kW)] as well as a maximum torque of 470 Nm.
Therefore, a Vmax of 220 km/h can be achieved. The next step is a so-called sound actuator made of VA-stainless steel with a control unit offering up to six different levels. Price: 1.090,00 Euro plus 290,00 Euro installation fee. The stainless-steel integrated tailpipes raise the invoice by another 139,00 Euro. The built in coil-over suspension allows a lowering from 20 to 55 mm. In combination with the hardness- and height-adjustable shock absorbers an optimal, safe and comfortable handling is ensured. The fee for this feature amounts to 2.290,00 Euro plus 480,00 Euro for installment including axle alignment. The wheel-tire combination with the new one-piece rim „V2-GT“ by VÄTH with titanium-high-gloss coating in 8,5 x 20 inch and matching tires in 245/45ZR20 on the front axle and 10,0 x 20 inch with 275/45ZR20 for the rear axle add another 4.200,00 Euro plus 180,00 Euro assembly to the itemized account. The lateral running boards are framed with polished stainless-steel pipes with stainless-steel metal sheets are worthy a special attention. Price: 525,00 Euro plus 200,00 Euro for installment.
All the above-mentioned fees are quoted before authorized value-added tax. Additional information about this Mercedes-Benz GLC 220d 4matic direct at
