The new BMW 6 series is official! The full range is now priced and build-able for USA shoppers — who can choose among 13 unique models of coupes, cabrios and Gran Coupes. Up that total to 16 if you include the M6 in each bodystyle.
Overall, the M Sport package is the must-have choice, but there is a Black Pack for the regular trimlines this year. This flips the chrome C-shapes in the bumpers and on other trims to gloss black, as shown in the below UK image of red cabrio nose.
As before, the four-doors are the sweet spot of the group. 640i and 650i GC models are in the $80k+ neighborhood, with the Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe sliding above all others with a $121k base price.
The Alpina B6 GC comes in $5k above the M6 GC in terms of base prices — which makes sense considering the Alpina is a half-second quicker to 60-mph. Its standard xDrive AWD allows far grippier launches than the rear-drive-only M6. Around ~3.7-seconds for the B6 plays ~4.2 seconds for the M6.

The 2015 BMW 6 Series Coupe, GranCoupe and Convertible are freshened for the 2015 model year, with a new look for the nose, upgraded trims and cabin tech, and a few tweaks to the performance setup. Arriving from around February to showrooms, the new 640i, 650i and M6 have a few meaningful design tweaks that go a long way.
The most noticeable element is admittedly pretty subtle, but is a new, larger and sharper twin kidney grille. This new look fixes some of the awkwardness of the previous car’s grille and hood intersection, where there was some uncomfortable overlap between the chrome, front bumper top, and hood. This new look also has fewer teeth in the grille: down to 9 vertical bars from the 10- previously.
New matte finishes are available up top and gloss black around the lower LED lights in the Coupe and GC are teamed with a full-width lower intake. The Cabrio sticks to a more chromey theme. The final treat are standard LED headlamps for all models in the latest BMW vogue.
