Upping turbodiesel power via ECU programming is a fine art in Europe these days – with a plug and play upgrade one of the first things many buyers order right after their car arrives.
But these massive power upgrades do not address another major issue with diesel engines versus gasoline: the exhaust note.
Luckily, some talented tuners are fixing this with incredible skill. Kaege.de’s results in the before/after video below are nothing short of remarkable.
Adjustable sound output levels are controlled via the cruise-control wheel stalk — with everything from a light growl to a full racing blatt available!

PORSCHE MACAN S DIESEL WITH V8-SOUND by KAEGE
KAEGE Automobile GmbH at Stetten, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, has built up a well known reputation largely above the frames of its location by various activities around the inexhaustible theme of motor cars, establishing itself as central point for masterful know-how and individual consulting in fields of automobile questions of all kind.
No less than a white Porsche Macan in S diesel version has become the object of desire. At first, the diesel engine with nearly three liters of engine size knew a power enhancement up to about 310 HP (= 228 kW) and 700 Nm of max. torque in plug and play by help of an external power add-on. The power kit values 1,490.00 Euro. On the exhaust system an active sound system with actors and acoustic rpm increase device warrants for very sportive V8-sound, individually adjustable via cruise control lever. When using the original standard end pipes including registration into the car’s documents, this measure will cost 2,790.00 Euro.
The car lowering of the serially equipped with air suspension vehicle is made by the KAEGE team by means of a DLC variant of KW with App control. The electronic lowering module is connected to the on-board supply via adapter jack, available beginning at 1,299.00 Euro. Furthermore, the Macan with serial steel springs and electric shock absorber adjustment can also be lowered by KW coilovers (for 549.00 Euro). Beyond this, the tuning company offers coilovers beginning at 1,299.00 Euro. For drivers who like comfort, KAEGE offers a KW street comfort chassis for 1,349.00 Euro. Actually, KW-DDC coilovers for cars with serial electronic shock absorber adjustment is still being developed.
The junction between car and street is materialized by a set of type CH-R II BBS rims with special Porsche Michelin-Pilot sports tires: in 9×21 inches with 265/40R21 on front axle and in 10,5×21 inches with 295/35R21 on rear. Matter of expense: 3,690.00 Euro. A “little optics packet” (690.00 Euro) presents the shock absorber underneath in front and rear, always in car color. Last but not least the painted red brake calipers – like for Macan Turbo. For this another 1,090.00 Euro will be brought to account.
