Jeep is preparing some minor updates for the 2026 Grand Cherokee as the strong-selling SUV continues to be a key cog in the brand’s plans despite some stumbles the brand has seen when it comes to sales of its other models including the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Jeep chose to give buyers a small glimpse of some of the changes with new teaser videos showing off the exterior and interior updates it has planned for the Grand Cherokee.
Light updates inside and out
Based on the photos as well as some of our own sightings of testers prowling around the Auburn Hills area, it’s apparent that Jeep is applying a light touch to the 2026 updates. The front fascia is where the bulk of the action is on the outside with the camo on prototypes hiding a newly updated front bumper. The front grille is shorter and the headlights now have a body-colored split that separates them from the chrome brightwork.
Meanwhile, the interior gets a teaser image that doesn’t give us as good of a view as the exterior but we can see the infotainment system is updated with two physical knobs being added while the climate controls have been trimmed down to a single row of them with a small cubby being located underneath. The rest of the cabin is carried over mostly unchanged which is a good thing since Jeep doesn’t want to rock the boat too much when it comes to the Jeep’s core values. The teasers didn’t come with any new information about powertrains but the 4xe model is slated to return and this refresh could be the one that sees the V6 being pitched for the inline-six that has slowly been making its way into the Jeep lineup and other Stellantis models.
When can I buy one?
Jeep will continue to assemble the Grand Cherokee at its assembly plant in Detroit Michigan with production expected to begin later this year before deliveries kick off shortly afterward. Pricing was not released but look for prices to potentially creep upward with that figure potentially going higher if a new powertrain replaces the V6. A price increase is an unavoidable part of doing business but Jeep is trying to reinvent its sales approach as high prices have put a damper on sales in recent years.
