2025 Ram ProMaster EV Gets More Range and Lowers The Price

In the commercial vehicle market, electrification has seemingly fit into the space like a hand in a velvet glove with many fleet operators adding EVs to their lineup of commercial vehicles. However, in the case of Ram, this revolution has seemingly passed them by especially when you look at how many Ford Transits have entered fleet inventory versus the noticeably smaller number of ProMaster full-size vans. The EV version of the ProMaster was supposed to give the brand a chance to cut into Ford’s massive market share. However, all has not gone to plan and the EV has been a slow seller.

Ram is looking to change that with the 2025 version of the ProMster EV. More range is on the menu and buyers will also be getting a price cut too.

ProMaster Styling is still controversial but look at that range

The exterior styling, for better or for worse, is still largely unchanged with the ProMaster continuing to have one of the most controversial front ends in the business. But while the styling will continue to polarize the masses, Ram makes up for it by offering more range in the base version with that model getting 180 miles of range on a single charge and a 12-foot length. This might not seem like much, but every mile counts if your out and about delivering goods. It also doesn’t hurt either that it beats the 158 mile range wielded by a comparable Ford E-Transit too.

Prices have also come down with the ProMaster EV now starting at $71,990 which is a noticeable decrease from the old model’s $79,990. Part of this is the addition of a new body style with the old EV only being available as a step-van. The extra body style is expected to boost demand and it also allows the van to lose some flab too, with this weight cut helping to boost range.

Will it finally allow the ProMaster to step out of the limelight?

It will be interesting to see if these changes will light a spark in the ProMaster EV’s sales. Ford has been enjoying a tremendous advantage in terms of sales and marketing with the commercial sector being a hotly contested battleground for both Ram and Ford. The sliding door is a nifty sales pitch and it might please buyers who are looking to have ease of access for loading but aren’t ready to pay the high price Rivian charges for the RCV.

The 2025 Ram ProMaster EV is expected to make its way to showrooms this pring with the brand confirming that order books for the model are now open.
