Range Rovers are known for their rugged off-road capability and their high levels of luxury. But in recent years, style and luxury have gradually taken center stage as Land Rover recently split its models off into three distinct family trees. The Range Rover is the style-focused one and the brand has used Design Miami as the place to debut the all-new Range Rover SV Candeo Edition.
Gold badging ups the bling
At first glance, the Candeo Edition looks like your average SV model and you would be forgiven if you think nothing is amis. But look at the badging of all places and you’ll see the differences slowly emerge with the model getting 18-karat gold gilded badging. The Candeo is the only Range Rover model to get this treatment and the company used over 29 troy ounces of gold for all the badging which comes in at over $57,000. The pricey gold is also detailed with the gold outer layer being complimented by an inner layer of white gold accents with a British jeweler applying the final details.
SV Bespoke handpainted the exterior paintwork which shifts from a satin sky blue on the hood to a pearl white along the roof and the upper half of the SUV. JLR says that it “magically captures the subtle golden reflections shimmering on the clear blue waters of Miami.” It looks cool but we don’t see the resemblance and it will depend on the viewer to make their own judgements.
Bespoke Candeo interior gets enhanced comfort
Slip inside and you’ll find a cabin worthy of the name with the seats getting Liberty Blue and Perlino (white) accents with blue sunburst accents also being added to the seatbacks. Natural wood veneers and ceramic trim accents help give the Candeo Edition a sleek modern look. The rear seats have 24-way adjustments and come with massage while an integrated chiller and a pop-up table transform the space into a social hot spot on wheels.
The rear of the SUV gets a Tailgate Event Suite finished in Liberty Blue leather with the feature giving occupants a place to sit and watch the sun go down at their favorite leisure spot. These bespoke appointments aside, the rest of the interior is carried over from other SV models and that means a strong emphasis on technology including the large infotainment system screen.
When can I buy one?
The Range Rover SV Candeo Edition is slated to enter production but the catch is that Land Rover is only producing one of these models with the one on display being meant to be a visual aid for buyers looking to customize their own Range Rover purchase. Buyers looking to replicate some of the magic here will be introduced to the SV Bespoke service where some of the appointments are available as separate accessories.
The lone Candeo Edition itself will go up on the auction block after its service at Design Miami is completed with any proceeds above its lofty undisclosed MSRP going to Arts Access Miami, an organization that supports childhood education in the Miami area.
