Lucid’s Gravity SUV is shaping up to be a key entry for the brand. The Gravity is the first time that the EV company has attempted to penetrate the EV segment and will help Lucid expand its sales. However, the company also knows that a smaller model will be needed in order for it to truly capitalize on the segment.
The company has confirmed that such a model is indeed under development and even released a lone teaser image to provide interested buyers a glimpse of what’s to come.
New SUV promises to deliver on style
it’s not known what moniker the SUV will adopt, but the shadowy teaser image confirms that the SUV will be sleeker than the blockier Gravity with a rakish greenhouse that tapers out to a pinched rear end. A scalloped front hood embraces the Lucid lettering on the leading edge and expect the rest of the design to also embrace this newfound sense of athleticism to help draw in as many young buyers as possible.
The image did not show the interior but look for it to also go in a different direction than the Air and the Gravity which is not only due to the model’s lower price point but also allowing its designers using the new model as an opportunity to introduce new design elements that would set the interior apart from what we have seen in the Air and Gravity.
When can I buy one?
if you’re looking to add this SUV to your garage, you will have to wait a while for your chance to do so. Lucid revealed that the new model will go into production in 2026 with the automaker looking to take advantage of its experience in providing world-class efficiency while also providing these benefits at a reasonable cost.
The appearance of the SUV could also help Lucid reverse some of its lingering issues with cash burn and slumping sales since the lower price point will allow the SUV to serve as a gateway model for new buyers. This gateway status will be important since some of these buyers might eventually move up to a bigger Gravity which helps solidify their loyalty with Lucid in the process.
