Hyundai Confirms Production of N Vision 74 Supercar, Part of Broader EV Push

It has been years of rumors and speculation but Hyundai has finally confirmed that it will not only be producing the N Vision 74 supercar but the model will also be part of a broader push that will see the company debut over 20 new EV models over the next few years.

N Vision 74 a sign of things to come

When the original N Vision 74 concept appeared, it was a wild two-door coupe with the car being powered by an all-electric powertrain that was powered by hydrogen fuel cells. Hyundai didn’t reveal official powertrain information for the production version (it snuck the announcement in at the end of its presentation, but look for the production N Vision to perhaps share the same all-electric powertrain as the Ioniq N but beefed up to fit its supercar aspirations.

Look for production to be extremely limited with the Korean car giant not making a mass-oriented model. Instead, it will be a halo model meant to draw attention to the rest of the EV lineup and that golden halo will be stretched to its limits with Hyundai revealing that it will be producing 21 new EV models by 2030.

Affordability to play key role in EV plans

Hyundai is clearly focusing on affordability for its future EVs with its investor day presentation revealing that the company intends to cover a wide array of EV segments. That includes the affordable EV segment with the company confirming that it will be making an all-electric version of the Casper while also expanding its presence in the mass-market EV segment. High-performance EVs are also part of the agenda but with the industry shifting towards affordable options, look for these models to be halos.

In the meantime, look for Hyundai to take a calculated approach to the N Vision 74 with the company not rushing development of the model to make sure that it has all the details covered before the model is unleashed to the public.
