The 2025 CT5-V Blackwing was already a potent performance car with the four-door sedan providing performance not only on the street but also out on the track. Cadillac knows that there’s always room for even more performance and it has delivered the goods with an all-new Precision package that sharpens the sedan’s focus and turns it into an even more potent track weapon for those who crave the performance needed to conquer any track weekend when they are not going to work on the weekdays.
Tweaked suspension makes this Caddy dance
The Precision Package is meant to make the CT5-V Blackwing excel on the track and while Cadillac chose to leave the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 and the exterior styling alone, the bulk of the changes are found in the suspension. Models equipped with the Precision package get stiffer springs, a stiffer front anti-roll bar, and tweaked bushings throughout the suspension. Cadillac says that these revisions improve the car’s handling on the track. Revised steering knuckles further help the cause and Cadillac gave it new rear toe links that allow for more aggressive alignment settings.
In addition to the reworked hardware, the CT5-V’s electronic components have also been upgraded with new calibrations for the MageRide suspension and the electronically operated limited-slip differential. Carbon ceramic brakes are also included too, and sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires are included to help the car stick to the road.
“We built this vehicle to set records on some of toughest tracks around the world and reward the most discerning driving enthusiast,” said Cadillac chief engineer Brandon Vivian in a statement. “This new Precision Package will enable the CT5-V Blackwing to be incredibly light on its feet at all speeds—both on road and track.”
When will we see it?
Cadillac didn’t release pricing for the Precision Package but look for the package to potentially cost over $10,000 with the bulk of that cost being attributed to the carbon-ceramic brake system. The Precision package is only a small part of the broader CT5-V Blackwing story with the reworked super sedan going toe to toe with the BMW M5. The M5 received its fair share of updates but it still can’t be equipped with a stick so look for the Cadillac to continue using that unique atrribute as a potent selling point when the model begins production.
