McLaren Unveils Renamed 2025 GTS, More Luxury and Performance Are On The Menu In This Refresh

The McLaren GT certainly caught our attention when we had the chance to sample one for 24 hours awhile back. This brief encounter allowed us to see the higher amounts of luxury and technology that McLaren infused into the car. However, progress and evolution are key motivators in the Grand Touring segment and McLaren has unveiled the updated 2025 McLaren GTS which adds more luxury performance and a new name for customers to remember too.

New Name Spearheads Light GTS Exterior Updates

McLaren has always been known for not straying too far from a proven formula and that’s on full display with the GTS. While the bulk of the exterior styling is largely unchanged, the front bumper has been tweaked and the rear fenders have also been modified slightly though that change will require a sharp eye to spot when comparing the GTS to the outgoing GT.

Other updates include an increased amount of gloss black trim as well as several new wheel designs. Several new colors will also be making their debut on the GTS including a slick hue called Mantis Green as well as Lava Grey. While it’s tempting to assume that the changes are purely aesthetic, the company claims that they also enhance airflow, especially to the rear radiators.

Interior Gains New Luxury Appointments, Performance Gets Bumped Up

The interior of the GTS still bucks typical Grand Touring tradition by not having a rear seat, but in exchange, owners will still be able to make full use of the large rear cargo area as well as the small front-mounted frunk. The interior trim itself has been upgraded with higher quality materials including aniline leather and Alcantara accents with the seats getting more elegant-looking piping especially in the seatbacks. We look forward to seeing if the company made any improvements to the stereo and infotainment system or if it will all be carried over from the outgoing GT.

Meanwhile, the GTS will continue to be powered by the company’s familiar 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 but power has been bumped up by 16 to a revised figure of 626 hp. Torque remains unchanged at 456 lb-ft but the company claims that some weight shedding it did will help the GTS make the sprint to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds.

When Can I Buy One?

McLaren was not ready to reveal final pricing for the 2025 McLaren GTS just yet, but did confirm that the model will go on sale next year. Look for pricing to be a bump up over last year with the GTS being firmly in the $200k price bracket before taxes and any optional extras (including customization suites from MSO) are factored into the mix.)
