Hyundai Reveals 2024 Sonata Pricing, AWD Variant Starts At $30,000, N-Line Still Performance King

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata is ushering several key updates for the stylish four-door sedan and while it remains to be seen if this update will help provide a jolt to Sonata sales as a whole, Hyundai has revealed the final pricing ladder for the model which aims to make this stylish four-door a potent value play in a segment where design and performance have become the new benchmarks.

Sleek Styling & AWD Make Sonata Compelling Package

Hyundai removed the base SE model from the Sonata lineup for 2024 and with its exit, the SEL model emerges as the new base entry in the family. This shift means that the Sonata is $2,050 more expensive than before, with a base SEL starting at $28,615 (all pricing includes the $1,115 destination fee.) The SEL is also the only trim level that gets all-wheel drive with these models starting at $30,115.

Hyundai is hoping to please buyers with enhanced levels of technology with the company confirming that the SE model will not only get 17-inch alloy-wheels standard but that it will also get a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto being bundled in standard. Over The Air updates are also a part of the mix as well and Hyundai is also enhancing the safety equipment on hand too to help provide buyers an extra degree of confidence and security for the new model year.

Performance for the majority of the lineup will come from a 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s mated to an eight-speed automatic. The hybrid and the N-Line variants will be the two exceptions to the rule with the Hybrid getting a 192-hp 2.0-liter and a six-speed automatic while the more powerful N-Line gets a 290-hp, turbocharged, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. Like the outgoing one, this N-Line version will continue to be the top Sonata trim but we wish that Hyundai would go all-in and make this a formal performance model.

When Can I Buy One?

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata’s launch will be split into two parts. The non-hybrid versions of the model will begin making their way to showrooms later this year with the N-Line also being part of the initial launch wave (a rare contrast from other models where the performance models often come last.)

The second wave will be defined by the hybrid model but buyers looking to inject some green into their commute will need to wait a bit with those models not slated to make their arrival until the first half of next year. In the meantime we have included the full pricing ladder which can be seen below.

SEL: $28,615
SEL AWD: $30,115
SEL Convenience: $31,915
