Nissan Debuts 2024 Frontier Hardbody, Retro Tribute To 80’s Icon Starts At $31,105

The Nissan Frontier has been an enduring symbol for Nissan over the years. The previous generation model, for example, was around for so long that we were convinced that a crazed dark warlock granted it immortality. The current generation model debuted back in 2022, and the company is celebrating this chapter of the Frontier by debuting the 2024 Nissan Frontier Hardbody.

Frontier Hardbody Package Channels 80’s Charisma

The original Hardbody model was known for its strong aftermarket following and was one of the decade’s most popular mid-size truck entries. This revived Hardbody is an appearance package only and stands out by offering buyers a slick coat of red paint that’s complemented by black accents and the attention-grabbing 17-inch three-spoke wheels.

The package can only be equipped to the Frontier SV 4×4 trim with the Hardbody also featuring a graphics package for the doors and the tailgate with the bed itself featuring a sport bar. Large mudflaps are also added to the rear of the truck, and a front skidplate is also added. The interior is not as loaded with touches of yesteryear. It will instead be a very familiar place for Frontier owners with the blacked-out interior featuring cloth seats and an 8.0-inch infotainment system. Performance still comes from a 310-horsepower naturally aspirated V6 that’s mated to a nine-speed automatic with standard rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive will continue to be an option on every Frontier model.

How Much?

If this time warp to the 1980s sounds like the right fit for your garage, be prepared to pay accordingly for the privilege. As mentioned, the Hardbody package is only available on the SV 4×4 trim and will add an extra $3,890 to the cost of a Frontier. When you tack on the $1,335 destination charge, your looking at a truck that’s over $40,000 when fully loaded.

The Hardbody (and the rest of the 2024 Nissan Frontier lineup) is on sale now, with the first models making their way to dealerships this fall.
