Ford Teases 2024 Ford F-150, Shows Off Farm Ready Capability Ahead of September 12th Reveal

The refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 is preparing to make its debut on September 12th, but before the pickup struts its stuff at NAIAS, Ford has released a brief teaser video showing the F-150 proving its chops out on a busy farm.

F-150 Refresh Points To Subtle Evolution Versus Outright Reboot

Ford is treating this model year as an MCE and, as a result, is not outright rebooting the model with radical changes to the styling language. As a result, the 2024 model doesn’t start too far from the outgoing 2023 model, with both of them featuring the same core look. However, the front fascia has been tweaked for 2024, featuring new stacked square-shaped headlights separated by a large turn signal lens. The reflectors have also been moved to the outer edges, and the grille has been slightly smoothed over. The taillights get new graphics but appear to retain the shape scene in the prior units.

The teaser video itself doesn’t reveal much about the new truck. Still, our sightings in Dearborn reveal that the company is not too worried about having the exterior styling out in the open at this point. However, the interior has proven to be more elusive, with engineers always having some form of covering over that area when the truck is out and about in public. That suggests to us that the company is preparing some key interior updates, including a reworked infotainment system. Look for most of the powertrains to carry over from the outgoing model, but we wouldn’t put it past Ford if the company has a surprise or two for us.

Establishing Continued Sales Dominance for F-150

While Ford is playing it safe with the 2024 F-150 in terms of updates, don’t mistake this for Ford taking its hands off the proverbial steering wheel. The F-150 has been the best-selling mid-size pickup for 46 years, and the company is keen on maintaining the status quo moving forward. In 2022 Ford sold 653,957 units and while that was down slightly from the 726,000 units sold in 2021, it was still enough to keep the F-150 in the top spot.

We look forward to seeing what Ford has in store towards the end of the decade, with the F-150 being slated for a more extensive suite of updates that would move the truck further into the EV age and perhaps add more electrification technology to non-Lightning models.
