2024 Cadillac Celestiq Embraces Flagship Role With Confirmed Base MSRP, Starts At $340,000

The 2024 Cadillac Celestiq promised to take Cadillac into a new pantheon of luxury and EV performance, with the futuristic EV sedan debuting several advanced features, including Ultra Cruise and a swath of bespoke luxury touches. However, the one detail that has been pretty vague about this EV is how much it will start with Cadillac only hinting that it would be over $300,000. The luxury brand finally provided some clarity a few days ago, with the brand confirming that a base model will start at $340,000.

Celestiq, A Blank Canvas For The Right Customer

The final price was revealed in a LinkedIn post by Cadillac global chief marketing officer Melissa Grady, who also quickly pointed out that this doesn’t include shipping and other various fees. Grady claims that this pricing will see buyers get a Celestiq that will serve as a “blank canvas” though we will say that this artist’s tapestry will be far from bare-bones basic thanks to the car’s impressive array of standard equipment.

We have seen this strategy from some of the Celestiq’s rivals, with Bentley and Rolls Royce also employing a similar game plan to give buyers the chance to tailor and customize their rides to their specific tastes. It also appears that this strategy is working, with Grady claiming that demand for the Celstiq is strong and that it’s enough to cover the first 18 months of production. However, unlike other EVs, the Celestqi is not focusing on mass production, with GM building the car at the GM Tech Center in Warren, Michigan, and having only enough production capacity to build two per day.

The heart of it all will be located at the Cadillac House at Vanderbilt, with the facility still under construction. The facility is named after designer Suzanne Vanderbilt who worked as a designer for GM and Cadillac in the late 1950s. The facility will be the figurative hub for the Celstiq and include a concierge service that will allow customers to design the Clestiq to their specific tastes before the production process begins. Cadillac claims that no two Celestiqs will be alike due to this process, and the only other minor item that customers need to do is select which dealership they will have their car delivered to.

When Can I Buy One?

If you are one of the lucky few that managed to get in a reservation for the Celestiq, you’ll have to wait a bit for your chance to drive it with GM and Cadillac confirming that production is scheduled to begin this December with the Cadillac House at Vanderbilt slated to be completed around that time. Cadillac didn’t reveal an exact date for when deliveries will begin but look for that information to emerge later this year.
