2023 Dodge Challenger & Charger Mopar Edition Make Surprise Appearance, Add Twist To Send Off

The Dodge Challenger and Charger are preparing to end production, and the ongoing Last Call series of models are celebrating various points in the history of both models before reaching the end of production. However, Dodge is out to prove that it can still provide a Mopar Edition-themed twist to the story and has unveiled the 2023 Dodge Challenger and Charger Mopar Edition.

Mopar Edition Brings Aftermarket Looks To Duo

This is not the first time that Dodge has offered a Mopar Edition Challenger or Charger, but this is the first time that the brand has offered the two models at the same time, with prior history showing that the brand would alternate between the two for select model years. The Mopar Special Edition uses the R/T Scatpack Widebody versions of both models and is largely a styling package with the model getting splashes of blue accents in the front grille, brake calipers, and the thick matte black stripe with the aforementioned blue highlighting the edges. Gloss black 20-inch wheels are also part of the package; both models get a sleek coat of black paint too.

The Charger and Challenger Mopar Editions’ interior gets its fair share of changes with Mopar branding on the floormats and the instrument panel with that component, also including a numbered plaque to denote their place in the production order. The Mopar editions have always served as a rolling catalog of Mopar’s broader performance library, and there’s a good chance that some of these parts can be ordered separately on the Mopar website.

Performance for both models is unchanged from their standard issue cousins, with all of them getting a 485-horsepower, 6.4-liter, naturally aspirated V-8. A six-speed manual is standard on the Challenger, with an eight-speed automatic continuing to be an option. As for the Charger, that model cannot be equipped with the manual and will continue to offer the automatic as its sole transmission choice.

“Our iconic two-door and four-door muscle cars from Dodge are perfect vehicles to continue our annual tradition of offering exclusive, performance-oriented, low-volume packages of quality-tested, factory-backed performance parts and accessories from the Mopar Custom Shop,” said Mike Koval, head of Mopar North America. “With striking matte black and Mopar Blue accents, both Mopar ‘23 models will turn heads and be sought after by performance enthusiasts and collectors alike.”

When Can I Buy A 2023 Mopar Edition?

The 2023 Dodge Challenger and Charger Mopar Editions will add $3,995 to the price of a standard R/T model. The Challenger is the least expensive of the two, with one of these models starting at $55,855, including the destination fee. The duo’s production will be split depending on what country you live in, with 200 of them going to dealerships in the U.S. while the remaining 20 get shipped off to customers in Canada. Production of the 2023 Dodge Challenger and Charger Mopar Editions will begin in September, with the first deliveries slated for October. Production of the Challenger and Charger as a whole will end in December.
