The Mustang is reaching all new corners of the globe in 2015, and one of those stops is Europe. A new video clip has been released that shows off the muscle car’s might on the Old Continent.
Ford sure knows how to promote their cars, and this video promotion is the second installment of the “Mustang in Europe” series. The video shows the car racing around the famed Lommel Circuit in Belgium. Besides the ample footage that will get you pumped, Ford included some quick interviews with designers that shed some light on the Mustang’s changes and new features.

Raj Nair, the group’s vice president, says in the video, “Whenever you redo a Mustang, you have the eyes of the world on you.” Truer words were never spoken — the hype was building for this year’s Mustang for months, maybe even years before its release. And now it’s making waves all the way across the pond in Europe.
Joe Bakaj, Vice President of Development for Ford of Europe, gives a quick rundown of the Mustang’s technical features. This year’s model includes a mode switch that allows you to select different driving modes, and a launch control option that helps you make quick getaways once the traffic light turns green.
Some design choices on the pony car are also explained, such as the independent rear suspension vs. the double ball-joint front suspension. Among the more noticeable differences in the car is that Ford chose to make it wider. Nair mentions that although the decision was a tad last-minute, he’s glad that Ford went through with the wider design in terms of the performance capacity and proportions.
That’s not all — the video claims that this is the “best-shifting Mustang we’ve ever built.” Guess you’ll just have to buy one to test out that claim.
And it can be yours — the beautiful Euro-spec Mustang comes with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine capable of producing 317 horsepower and 318 lb-ft of torque.
This is revolutionary because it’s the first time Ford is offering a four-cylinder engine in its pony car. This is good for countries like Europe, because it requires lower taxes than the more powerful V8. You’ll still be rocketing out of those traffic lights at an awesome acceleration speed of 0-60 in 5.8 seconds.
Looking for something even more powerful? The Euro-spec Mustang GT features a 5.0-liter V8 engine with 421 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. That extra power will bring you from 0 to 60 in just 4.8 seconds.
While the Euro-spec version of the Mustang loses a little bit of power compared to the US version, Europeans will still be in for a treat. As you can see in the video, it drifts like a dream, and all the added features will be eaten up by European fans of the pony car. First, the United States, and then the world — the Mustang is taking over!
