TECHART Formula IV Race Forged Centerlock Wheel
Fighting for tenths of a second on track! From September 2014 TECHART Automobildesign is going to offer a top-class forged centerlock wheel to customers of the current Porsche 911 Turbo, Turbo S and GT3 models (type 991). Optimized in weight, manufactured in 20-inch dimension and filigree 5-twin-spokes design, the TECHART Formula IV Race combines technical and aesthetic performance equally.
Visually inspired by the successful TECHART Formula IV light-alloy wheel with 5-hole screw connection, the five twin-spokes alignment of the TECHART Formula IV Race Forged Centerlock Wheel was rearranged through a concave torsion of surfaces. Thus the modified spokes’ volumes generate a homogeneous overall geometry of the wheel, resulting in visual dynamics with a high effective capability of the aluminium alloy used.
Manufactured by the so-called Flow-Forming-Technology, the lightweight and extremely rigid construction of the one-piece TECHART Formula IV Forged Centerlock Wheel, results in an ideal balance of material stiffness and low tare weight. Through state-of-the-art Under Cut Technology a special lathing process carves out a cavity at the rim flange additionally. Thus weight-specific and stylistic requirements are taken into account similarly.
The new TECHART Formula IV Race Forged Centerlock Wheel reduces the vehicle’s rotating and unsprung mass and offers a more agile and precise driving characteristics for the current Porsche 911 Turbo, Turbo S and GT3 models (type 991). Expressed in figures the weight saving of one TECHART Formula IV Race Forged Centerlock Wheel amounts approximately 1 kg compared with the standard Porsche 911 Turbo S forged centerlock wheel (type 991). Furthermore the delicate design of the TECHART Formula IV Forged Centerlock Wheel’s five twin-spokes enhances the brake’s aeration and ventilation. The centerlock with anodized aluminium ring and laser engraved TECHART logotype enables a fast wheel change at the race track when necessary.
From September 2014 the TECHART Formula IV Forged Centerlock Wheel is going to be available for the Porsche 911 Turbo, Turbo S and GT3 models (type 991) in the following dimensions:
• FA: 9.0 x 20 ET 46 (for Porsche 911 Turbo, Turbo S and GT3)
• RA: 12.0 x 20 ET 47 (for Porsche 911 GT3)
• RA: 12.0 x 20 ET 58 (for Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S)
All wheels can be ordered in titanium grey or with polished front surface. According to the vehicle’s equipment, a modification for a central locking device might be required.
