Porsche has always loved rallying in a way that sets them apart from Ferrari and other exotic sportscar makers.
Something about the engineering challenges beforehand, the technical expertise needed out in Oman or Siberia, plus the driver skill required to win — are all just very alluring to the Stuttgart legend.
Two manifestations of this hidden rally passion are the 2007 Cayenne S Transsyberia and the 1978 911 SC Safari. Amazing cars, both.
We at Car-Revs-Daily.com would love to see a Cayman Safari or perhaps a full Macan Turbo decked out in Martini colors….
The 911 SC visited Goodwood recently… indicating some new dirt appetite within Porsche perhaps?
