Cars and Coffee in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina was a huge success yesterday! Over 250 cars were in attendence — with everything from Lamborghini Diablo’s to 1950s Jaguars to 2014 Camaro ZL1s — and nearly everything in between.
I enjoyed my visited very much, and encourage car guys everywhere to do a five-minute look for a similar event in their areas. In general, I thought Cars & Coffee was a small phenomenon occurring in just a handful of large cities. I could not have been more wrong! Not only is there one in my small city of Charleston, SC — there are four! Various other locations have sprung up in many locales — but this 2012-founded Mount Pleasant gathering is the most established.
What does this mean for guys in a totally different part of the country and the world? Look for one nearby — or start one! The cost is zero, but the rewards are great. There is no organizing body to help, which will make getting included in the local paper’s info section something you should DIY. Same goes for a Facebook page to promote the event and update folks on the location and upcoming events.
It will not start off huge and well-attended, but what else were you doing Saturdays before 11am?
