2016 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG Rendering
While on a mad Photoshop bender today, here is another interpretation of a future Mercedes-Benz SUV – the upcoming M-Class refresh.
The current ML63 AMG and the ML350 4Matic have fallen flat in the marketplace versus the evergreen sales of the BMW X5 and even the Audi Q7.
With the arrival of the Porsche Macan and BMW X4 and X6 in the same year as the new X5 — the heat is really on the ML to pull its own weight.
The ideas for a totally new Mercedes SUV nose and tail were quite prominent on the Concept Coupe SUV from Beijing 2014 — and they are really cool concepts overall.
NOSE
In front, the nose ditches the PepBoys add-on look of the LED lower lighting in favor of highly advanced MultiBeam LED headlights with their own internal light swirls as DRLs.

TAIL
The tail is also heavily revamped with organic surfacing, more flow and fewer choppy air outlets than the current ML63 AMG. Most prominent is the new full-width LED light bar that will serve brake light functions.
These renderings are far from flawless – but do provide a general idea of what is coming on the next generation of Mercedes SUVs. The GL, GLK and ML are all due for a refresh relatively urgently, so expect some interpretation of these ideas as 2016 or 2017 models.
